53Six is a creative sports marketing agency based in Dublin, working with some of the most dynamic and exciting brands in the sports industry. We specialise in creating campaigns that inspire and engage fans across multiple channels, with a focus on building lasting relationships between brands and their audiences. This is a strategic hire for the company and a leadership level role.

The Opportunity

As Creative Director at 53Six, you’ll lead the creative output for our clients, driving projects from initial brief to delivery. You’ll work closely with a talented team to develop innovative, integrated campaigns that span digital, traditional, and experiential formats. The core of the role is to deliver brilliant ideas so our clients can meet their strategic objectives and your role will require blending both art direction and copywriting, delivering work that resonates with target audiences and stays ahead of industry trends.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Creative Vision & Leadership – Setting and championing the overall creative direction, pushing boundaries while ensuring the work aligns with client needs and brand goals. This person will also manage a team of creatives, including 2x designers.

  2. Cross-Disciplinary Expertise – Blending your expertise in art direction, copywriting, design, video, and other disciplines to deliver cohesive, integrated campaigns across different channels, including digital, traditional, and experiential

  3. Strategic Thinking – Aligning creative ideas with strategic objectives, ensuring every campaign delivers both creatively and commercially, with a focus on results-driven work

Key Responsibilities

  • Creative Leadership

    • Lead projects from briefing to delivery, collaborating with the creative team to ensure the highest quality work

    • Develop the highest quality concepts while challenging briefs and strategies where necessary

    • Be a content specialist, understanding different content types (especially video) and how to optimise them for social platforms

    • Champion creative thinking, technical execution, and client communication throughout each project

    • Ensure work aligns with both client needs and agency vision, while maintaining project accountability

    • Work with Head of Strategy/Growth to produce concepts of the highest calibre for our partners

  • Team Management

    • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the design and content teams

    • Brief and manage design and content specialists, including animators, designers, directors, and talent

    • Provide feedback and direction during brainstorming sessions and creative reviews

  • Client Engagement

    • Lead the creative development for new client briefs, working closely with client services and strategy teams

    • Present and articulate creative visions and solutions to clients

    • Direct the development of presentation materials and video concepts to help win new business

  • Trend Analysis & Innovation

    • Stay informed on emerging industry trends and platforms, ensuring our creative remains innovative and forward-thinking

    • Seek continuous improvement in creative processes and deliverables

Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years creative experience in a social-led creative, marketing, or advertising environment

  • Blended experience between art direction and copywriting

  • Proven track record of delivering successful, commercially impactful campaigns

  • Strong conceptual thinker with hands-on skills in both creative execution and leadership

  • Expertise in video and social content production, with an understanding of various formats and platforms

  • Ability to lead a fast-paced, quick-turnaround environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficient in design and pitch presentation tools (Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides)

  • Experience briefing and working with craft specialists across different media

  • Interest in youth culture, pop culture, and sports marketing trends
