Nominations, Awards and New Hires!

Hello again!

The past few months were exciting times for Fifty-Three Six and we expect nothing less for 2019. Not only were we joined by 3 wonderful talents (Sarah, Andre & Claudio), but our work has been recognised in all the right places. To boast (not so modestly), we’ve been on a lucky streak in terms of awards nominations and even a win! In November and December we were nominated for multiple categories in the 2018 Spiders, Ireland’s leading Digital Technology Awards, as well as the Irish Sponsorship Awards. Both occasions highlighted the incredible work we’ve done as an agency, as well as our work with Allianz on MyTribe that activates Allianz’s continued sponsorship of the Allianz Leagues. Speaking of MyTribe, look at our newest video on Kerry Footballer, Tadgh Morley below.

As a company that has existed for 2 short years, we have been nominated for 10 different awards, which is a feat in itself, and have taken home the prize twice. In January we also learned that we were nominated for 2 categories in the Digital Media Awards! Tonight we will go up against some of the best to see if we have what it takes to win Best Agency and/or the Best Use of Mobile for our GAANOW campaign. Fingers crossed 2019 we will be 2/2 at the DMAs 🤞🏼!!

It is wonderful to see the hard work and talent in this office achieve such outstanding honours, and the unbelievable title of Best Start-Up at The Spiders. For such a young company to win Best Newcomer at the Digital Media Awards (DMAs) in 2018, Best Start-up at the 2018 Spiders and now to be nominated for Best Agency at the DMAs tonight, we are so very thankful and excited.

On a different note (but equally as exciting!) we have become a 8-person team! That means we have doubled in size since January of 2018, doubled the female population (hello Sarah 💃🏻), AND tripled our exotic imports (ciao Claudio & Andre 😎).

Sarah, our new Production Coordinator, joins the Fifty-Three Six team from a background of Film and Television work. Having worked for production companies such as Samson Films (Float Like a Butterfly, Cellar Door, Once) and Deadpan Pictures (Can’t Cope Won’t Copy, Nowhere Fast), she has gained a wealth of experience in film and tv production. Sarah has also worked on various Screen Ireland funded shorts (Catcalls, Break Us), as well as currently producing her own short films and documentaries. She has made the office infinitely cooler, and has saved Mairead from all the males 👯‍♀️.

Andre, our favourite creative designer, moved from Malaysia to study Visual Communications in Limerick, following his undergrad in Advertising and Graphic Design. Andre joined the team in October and is passionate and humble in everything he does, taking pride in every piece of artwork he has created. Andre has some amazing design skills and makes us question every day what we did without him – Welcome Andre!!

And finally, Claudio, joining us as our data guru and resident cool Italian. Claudio has incredible knowledge of the industry from his time at Facebook and Microsoft, and many years’ experience as a data-driven strategic marketer. Originally from Italy, Claudio has travelled across the globe, having worked in 6 different countries and visited over 28.  When he’s not helping us to deliver and analyse awesome ad campaigns,  you will find him capturing the world through the lens of his camera.

Now back to looking for more awards to enter, and Conor is off to buy some trousers for tonight.…
